did i ask?
So, D and I went for some retail therapy after work today (after a particularly stressful week). We both got two pairs of cute, cute shoes at DSW and then we headed to H&M to see if we could find any fun stuff for Vegas there. We both round up a bunch of stuff to try on and head to the dressing room. The first thing I try on is a redish, tank “thing.” I try it on more for fun, because D told me I had to. I come out of my dressing room and head to her dressing room to show her and to see how her dress looks. While I am TALKING TO HER one of the dressing room attendants says to me “ummm, that is a shirt.” Because I HATE IT when someone interrupts me mid-conversation, I ignore her. She then touches my arm to get my attention and says, “I said, that is a shirt, not a dress.”
What I said: “Thanks.”
What I was thinking: “Sweetheart, I am five feet tall and buying clothes for Vegas, EVERYTHING is a dress!”
Sometimes I hate being polite.

Umm.. You should have told the shop girl, “Betch! Don’t you know there are no rules when it comes to fashion? Shut the hell up!”
Such a freaking fashion-wannabe she must have been!
Some of the most interesting trends have come from pieces that weren’t worn the way they were meant to be.. “Lingerie as regular clothers”… “Camouflage for everyday”… “Riding boots with jeans tucked in while at work”…

Hell, yes! It’s Vegas!
I recently tried on BRIGHT RED SATIN SHORTS with a see-through red top for my Vegas trip. That’s something that I would NEVER ordinarily wear in public. (And you know what? It actually didn’t look that bad.)
I used to work clothing retail at Victoria’s Secret, and you won’t believe what some of those crazy ladies tried to pass off as fitting lingerie….I’m kind of scarred.
